Evening Commute
MARC train arrives at Silver Spring to pick up the evening commuters.
B & O Bridge
This is all that remains of the original 405 foot bridge that crossed Rock Creek for the B & O Railroad. Its replacement can be seen here.

Also as part of the Heritage Days, the B&O station originally opened in 1945 was holding an open day as well. On display were old photographs taken by the station agent, pieces from Silver Spring’s past and a model railway.

Same time, same place. I liked the look of both images and so decided to post both of them. I seem to have done a lot of night images lately so I will try to get out during the day more over the next few weeks.

I was taking a few nights shots of Kensington station when I heard a freight train approaching. I set a 5 second exposure and hoped for the best. I was able to capture a couple of frames that I liked the look of but it was starting to get cold and I didn’t fancy waiting [...]
