I have posted an image of the Discovery Building before but decided to do it again and actually use my tripod this time so I could try a few long exposures.

This is the second of five murals on the Old Caldor building, now part of Discovery Communications. This one depicts the corner of Georgia Ave and Colesville Rd. The panels are by Mame Cohalon.

Considering all the goings on with the shuttle and the space station at the moment this seemed like a good time to post this image. The spaceman is part of the “A Brushstroke of Discovery” mural on the Discovery Building.

The Tastee Diner is a Silver Spring landmark. It was originally built on the site of what is now the Discovery Building. When construction started it was moved a few blocks to its present location.

This is the front of the Discovery Communications building which is highlighted by lights which change color.
