my grandpa was the owner of silver springs auto body and he died in november of 2008. i wish he was still here today so he could see what happened to his own shop. even though he sold it years ago he still loved it. he was such a caring person.

Demolished was the Silver Spring Auto Body Shop at 8225 Mayor Lane, the last “home” of Norman Lane (1911-1987). Lane, a homeless man, is commemorated by a portrait bust by Fred Folson and located on the “Mayor’s Promenade” next to 8221 Georgia Avenue.
