Will Veterans Plaza ever be built?
From Silver Spring Downtown:
The Silver Spring Civic Building and Veterans Plaza project has been put out for bids and should start construction in the spring of 2008. The building and plaza will be completed in the summer of 2009.
Well it is now the summer of 2008 and no construction has started. I am not sure if the hold up is funding issues or another change of plans but it will be interesting to see exactly what they build if it is ever constructed.

Montgomery county is broke, nothing proposed is being built.That land will sit there remaining one of silver springs notorious eyesores, the transit center is only a dream and the metro station will continue to be a homeless hangout, the library will never move and the old JC Penney building will never “rock out” or sing the blues. Ruby Tuesdays is gone and now we have all these failed projects and vacancies. Silver Spring is headed back to where it used to be. (slum village)
