That’s my old high school! It used to be the Academy of the Holy Names, a Catholic girls’ high school. (Notice the cross over the door; a clue to its previous incarnation.) It was a four-year (grades 9 through 12) college prep high school staffed by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. I went there from 1966-1970. I received a very good education there, I must admit, and was completely prepared for college academically. Of course, I was not so prepared for boys… even though we used to call the school the “Academy of the Horny Dames”!

Just a followup to my previous comment — Holy Names finally closed down when Good Counsel, one of the local Catholic boys’ schools, went co-ed. I think it was sometime in the mid-80s.

I went to Holy Names. It closed after the graduating class of 1988, two years after I graduated.

It is a very boxy unadorned building, isn’t it? I would be concerned that the quality of the education delivered would be along the same lines.
