It is a very boxy unadorned building, isn’t it? I would be concerned that the quality of the education delivered would be along the same lines.

That’s my old high school! It used to be the Academy of the Holy Names, a Catholic girls’ high school. (Notice the cross over the door; a clue to its previous incarnation.) It was a four-year (grades 9 through 12) college prep high school staffed by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. I went there from 1966-1970. I received a very good education there, I must admit, and was completely prepared for college academically. Of course, I was not so prepared for boys… even though we used to call the school the “Academy of the Horny Dames”! ;-)

Just a followup to my previous comment — Holy Names finally closed down when Good Counsel, one of the local Catholic boys’ schools, went co-ed. I think it was sometime in the mid-80s.

I went to Holy Names. It closed after the graduating class of 1988, two years after I graduated.
