What is GMH an acronym 4?
Is this complex off GA Ave? I know alot of WR army live on the hill in E-W hgwy (i think its called Suburban Summitt Hills) in SS,MD.
So do they (military) pay the uber hi rents we “civilians” pay in Montg Co:
-$1000 for JUST rent
-$100-misc housing fees(grass cutting, parking sticker)
-$200 utilities
So expensive !

I live there! lol. Not that particular building, though.
I don’t know what GMH stands for. I always thought it was something like General Military Housing, but that would be sort of redundant since they call it “GMH Military Housing.”

And when a Soldier and their family moves into off-post housing their BAH (Housing Allowance) goes to the housing company to pay for rent and basic utilities. This varies from almost every Soldier, but the figures of about 1200 for rent and utilities is probably average.

And, yes, it’s off Georgia Ave. Actually off Windham Ln.

The address for the main office: GMH Community Management Office 1200 McMahon Road Wheaton, MD 20902

Soldiers who are newcomers to WRAMC need to be better directed to the Glen Haven Community. I have been stationed here for better than half a yr and I just figured everything out today and I have been living in civilian off post housing cause of it. Whenever I have time off, which is next to never, I always try to find it .First of all, people kept telling me,” why dont you move to Forrest Glen,” which led me to believe that the housing was on the Forrest Glen Annex, somewhere off of Seminary, which was an excruciating task to find. I finally decided to dedicate a day off to finding where all this stuff is cause I got tired of not knowing. Then, when I finally found it, the guards at the gate told me that there is no housing on the Forrest Glen Annex and that what I was looking for was somewher in Wheaton, but couldnt tell me how to get there and I still was not told then name of it, being Glen Haven. When I finally found it this evening, after excruciating detective work, I was pleasantly surprised, but geesh, it would have been nice to have known where it was when I got here. I was kind of irritated by the fact that the reason why I couldnt ever find it online was because every one kept telling me it was the FORREST GLEN housing. What a terrible mess it is here.
