The old Safeway supermarket in Kensington was similar to the one in Wheaton. It was closed in November of last year and is due to re-open in November of this year. The new store is 52000 square feet and will have underground parking to maximize the available space.
Always one of the cheaper places to buy gas/petrol, as long as you have cash.
While walking on Saturday we came across this garden with a simulation of the Island of Jamaica. It is 56ft long and 14ft wide and made of concrete. It is intended to promote the island and has been featured on TV, in the Washington Post and on video at The Smithsonian Institution.

They held a kids Summer Carnival at City Place Mall on Saturday. There were different games for the kids and candy floss or cotton candy as they say in these parts.
After a coffee at the Tiramisu we went for a stroll around the local streets. We actually ended walking across the State line into Washington DC and passed this church. It was such an interesting looking church that I just had to stop and take a picture.
