Kensington Safeway

The old Safeway supermarket in Kensington was similar to the one in Wheaton. It was closed in November of last year and is due to re-open in November of this year. The new store is 52000 square feet and will have underground parking to maximize the available space.

Construction never ends. It is hard to describe but your photo clearly shows what is happening. The name “Safeway” used to be a supermarket in this area but went out of business many years ago. They could not compete with Kroger and other large stores.
