You should’ve joined us on Friday eve as a bnch of St Michael’s parishioners spruced up the grounds, planted annuals, weeded, etc.
BTW to Abe - our church building is circa 1940s - for a look at modern Catholic churches - go upcounty to Mother Seton in Germantown. I think your view of what is Catholic or not may be influenced by what you see in old movies? Step inside and visit - I think you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise.

I grew up at 9806 Bradford Road and St. Michael’s was my parish. Made first communion, first confession there and attended many Sunday Scool classes at the grade school located just across the street. Classes run by the strictest Nuns the world has ever seen. They had Mass every hour on the hour. Pop would get a Sunday Star, get there early and read the “funny papers” to us. Pogo was my favorite. Waiting for the next Mass. I spent many times in the confessional sweating it out waiting for the window to slide open. That was mid ’50s to 1960. Dolce bella temperus. Sweet beautiful times. Masses were in latin of course but everyone seemed to know what was going on.

An interesting church. Just looking at it I would never have guessed it was Catholic. It seems like a 7th Day Adventist or a Methodist Church but not Catholic. I guess I have seen too many of the old style churches and not enough of what Catholics are building these days.
It is a nice photograph and has all the details I like.
