A Courtyard by Marriott was built as part of the Downtown redevelopment. This is the view of the lounge/restaurant. It is centrally located for all of Downtown.

ia etc
ia etc. is a home furnishings store based in Downtown Silver Spring. They opened in 2002 and it appears they are now moving. I’ve always thought that although they have some interesting furnishings, they seem a little expensive. I wonder the reason for their move.

This is the coffee shop in Borders Bookstore.

Whole Foods
Whole Foods is my wife’s favorite food store. Even though this is not our primary grocery store, the store always makes food look colorful, bright and inviting.

Pier 1
Pier 1 is a home furnishings and decor store which started in San Mateo, California in 1962. They now operate over 1200 stores. Their merchandise is sourced from over 50 countries.

Caribou Coffee
This week I decided to visit some of the local stores. Some of them you may know, others are just local. We start the week at Caribou Coffee. For those of you who do not have access to this brand think Starbucks decorated like an Alaskan cabin.
