“The Castle…”
“The Castle at Forest Glen” is the headquarters of an aviation company. Apart from that I know nothing about this building other than it is a little strange looking and has a interesting name.. I tried to Google it but the only item that came up was the present occupant. Do any locals have any information?

It IS a strange building! Kind of like a castle, the balconies look kind of Spanish, and the roof could be Chinese… kind of… and the whole thing needs a coat of paint or something….
So how are you enjoying DP? Your photos look good. I like the mural, too.
Thanks for the kind comment. The good thing about doing DP is that I am now getting out more and taking more photos. Also I am noticing more about were I live than I ever did. - John

I grew up a half-block from the Castle on Forest Glen Road! It was originally built as a hotel for the parents of the girls attending the National Park Seminary. My dad used to carry their bags from the train for tips. (The train station is no longer there — my grandfather was the stationmaster.) After the Army took over the Seminary, it became a Hungarian Restaurant — the upstairs was rumored to be a brothel. Every time the restaurant owner came looking for signatures on his petition to renew his liquor license, my mom would read him the riot act. She always threatened to burn the place down — until it actually did catch on fire in the sixties. She was in Ocean City at the time, a convenient alibi indeed.

Also, it’s true that there was one continuous piece of land between the castle and the seminary, but it was a very deep gully. There was a bridge that connected the seminary with the castle; the remnants can still be seen on the seminary side.

I heard it was the oringal train station and post office for Forest Glen (the old Hotel and then the Seminary) Before the Beltway was carved through there was one continuous piece of land between the Seminary and this building.
